On Sunday I participated in the Tri for Real triathlon at Rancho Seco Park in Sacramento. I set a personal best for an Olympic distance race 1.5k, 40k, 10k of 2:40. My previous best was 2:45. And that is with zero swimming since my race on May 1st and very little biking or running. It looks like the years of training are starting to have a carryover effect and my slow speeds are as fast as my old fast speeds. Great news, as I continue to get more fit even as I age. I hope to one day break 2:30. Professional racers are complete the races of this distance in under 2 hours. I have a way to go if I hope to become a professional. Haha.
